True story: I haven’t blogged for so long that I forgot how to log in to the admin page for my site. I actually had to google “how to log into your wordpress site.”
It has been 7 months since my last blog posting and 6 months since I last published an essay, but here I am today, sitting in front of my computer, about to hit “publish.”
“Are you still writing?” friends and family ask me constantly.
The answer is – yes. I am writing, just not as much as I did before, when my daughter napped and I had 2 hours of quiet time at home in the middle of the day. My writing group is still active. I have a file of half-finished essays on my computer and I still jot down ideas on my phone. But finding the time and drive to execute my ideas and edit my work has been more challenging this year.
I know I can make more time for writing. I have friends who wake up early to write or work late into the evening. There are ways to fit it in more often, I just have not.
This past year, my daughter has turned into a fiercely independent, funny, whip smart kid, and the truth is – I would rather spend my time being with her than writing about her.
But, I am trying to carve out an hour of time when I can. I know that I will find my way back to writing more consistently. In the meantime, I am enjoying summer with my big kid, and proud that I wrote something today.

Writing can take back seat, time is to short and valuable and your little doll will be grown before you know it. Mine is twenty two and I am so grateful I invested my time wisely with her. Happy summer best of luck 🙂 ??

Indeed, your priorities are right on (or write on) and your ideas will always flow, sometimes onto the page, sometimes just in your mind. And it’s all good!
