Welcome to my Becky’s Blog, where I write about fully embracing our beautiful, messy lives.
This blog is for those of us who can accept both our own and others’ imperfections with grace.
Here is my secret: I have no idea what I am doing. I do the best I can as a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. For me, that is enough.
In my pre-mom life, I worked as an attorney for a decade. After the birth of my daughter, I retired from the practice of law to become a stay-at-home mom, which gave me the opportunity to develop my lifelong love of writing. I always wish that I had more time to write, but my toddler keeps me pretty busy.
My writing has been featured in the Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, Literary Mama, Mamalode, Kveller, Elephant Journal, BlogHer, Bonbon Break, Mom Babble and Andrea Beaman’s blog. In addition, I am a regular contributor to Run Stroller Run.
My three-year-old daughter Emma is my light and the air I breathe. She also keeps me laughing and grounded. Here a few of my favorite motherhood posts that she has inspired:
The Secret Language of Toddlers (featured on Huff Post Parents)
Tethered (published on Mamalode)
Why I Love my Toddler’s Wild Hair (featured on Huff Post Parents)
Living Fearlessly like my Daughter
The Weight of Her (published on Mamalode)
Today I am also a certified Holistic Health Coach and an ACE certified group fitness instructor. As a Health Coach, I work with clients to help them implement manageable and realistic lifestyle changes. My goal is to help my clients reach a healthier and happier state through food and lifestyle modifications. In addition to working with individuals, I also facilitate group workshops on various topics.
I also make my own beauty products. I current create lip balm, body butter, face cream, baby cream, body scrubs, arnica salve and various other products. I run a small business, Becky’s Balms, through which I sell these products to order.
I live with my husband and daughter outside of New York City. I love dance, wine and the summertime.
